“With nearly 1,280 km of maritime frontage and almost 2,148 km of coastline, Algeria possesses major natural assets that remain largely underexploited. EXPOMER 2026 aims to bring together all institutional, economic, and scientific stakeholders to transform this potential into a genuine driver of growth, contributing to national food security, value creation, and the country’s integration into Mediterranean and African blue economy dynamics.”

The Algerian Coastline: Nearly 1,280 km of Maritime Frontage and Vast Economic Potential

Building on the success of its first edition, held in September 2025 at the Palais de la Culture Moufdi Zakaria, in Algiers, EXPOMER is entering a new phase of consolidation and growth with its second edition, taking place on December 16, 17, and 18, 2026, at the Mohamed Ben Ahmed Convention Centre (CCO Oran).

Organized by Ecology Green Impact Company (ECOGIC), in partnership with the National Higher School of Marine Sciences and Coastal Development (ENSSMAL), the event has established itself as a leading national platform dedicated to the blue economy and strategic maritime challenges.

EXPOMER 2026 positions itself as a strategic national platform designed to accelerate the transformation of Algeria’s maritime economy. As a true catalyst for innovation and investment, it aims to establish the blue economy as a major pillar of economic diversification, industrial development, food security, maritime transport growth, and technological transition, by bringing together all public and private stakeholders around an integrated and forward-looking vision. In a global context shaped by climate change, digital transformation, food security imperatives, energy challenges, and increasing competition for marine resources, Algeria holds significant assets thanks to its extensive coastline, fisheries and aquaculture potential, maritime transport and logistics development capabilities, prospects for industrializing blue economy sectors, and its privileged geostrategic position at the heart of the Mediterranean.

Through EXPOMER 2026, the ambition is to make the blue economy a genuine driver of development for Algeria by transforming its maritime potential into concrete opportunities for value creation, innovation, industrialization, and investment. The exhibition aims to accelerate the modernization of maritime sectors, enhance their competitiveness, and bring together public, private, academic, and international stakeholders around a shared vision: building a sustainable, resilient, and wealth-generating blue economy that contributes to national development.
